A weekend of art, community and celebration throughout the town of Woodstock. Events are free to the public, unless otherwise noted.
Here’s the basic schedule for the weekend. We will announce artists, locations and all details on our website as we approach the weekend. Watch… for news.
Thursday, July 25th—6:30pm. Revival Kick Off Party. The Byrdcliffe Barn. The Secret City invites all to enjoy a buffet and cash bar to celebrate the kick-off of the Revival weekend. The Secret City Band will play. Founder Chris Wells will give a welcome, introduce guests artists, and highlights of the weekend to come. Also, hat making led by puppeteer and Secret City board member, Lynn Jeffries, in anticipation of our community processional on Sunday.
Friday, July 26th—5:30-7:30. House events. Everything from poetry readings to jazz house concerts to site-specific dance to art salons and more, these events are hosted by locals who curate and present a broad variety of art and performance highlighting the rich culture of the town of Woodstock.
Friday, July 26th—8:30 pm. Station Bar. Simon’s Dream, the music of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, featuring original members of the band. $15
Saturday, July 27th—10-noon. Private home. Brunch and pool party. Breakfast buffet, swimming and mixing with The Secret City board, a fundraiser for The Secret City. Tickets are $50 and will go on sale first week of June.
Saturday, July 27th—12-6pm. Site specific performance around town. With the town of Woodstock as our venue, we present a diverse selection of performance art, music, dance and engagement in a variety of settings. From the trails of Comeau property to the Village Green, artists will present work throughout the day. Guided tour of these sites will be available.
Saturday, July 27th, 6:30pm—Picnic. Andy Lee Field. Bistro to Go and Nancy’s Ice Cream will be selling sandwiches and ice cream for us as we gather on the lawn at Andy Lee Field. Entertainment by Andru Bemis, modern day troubadour.
Saturday, July 27th—8pm. Live Band Karaoke. Colony Woodstock. Brent Felker and Company will lead the crowd in an evening of live band karaoke. Get on stage and channel your inner Janis Joplin with a live band behind you. $20.
Sunday, July 28th—12noon. Community Processional. Gather at the upper parking lot of Comeau Property where we will kick of our processional. We’ve partnered with a broad array of local art and community organizations—Woodstock School of Art, Catskill Interpretive Center, The Woodstock Library, Radio Kingston, Mt. Tremper Arts and more—to create the design elements of the processional. For the theme of Back to the Garden, we have hundreds paper flowers, animal puppets, butterflies, banners and more. We will walk down hill and through town with a marching band, reinvigorating the artistic spirit of Woodstock and inviting all to join us for the REVIVAL.
Sunday, July 28th—2pm. The Revival. Andy Lee Field. Under a big tent at Andy Lee Field, up to 500 people will gather for our signature ‘service.’ Featuring dancing, The Secret City Band, our community choir, The Secret City Singers, as well as guest artists, storytelling, contemplation, revelry and more. The Artistic Tent Revival is the culmination of the weekend and our season. Expect a high-octane, roof raising, ecstatic art experience.
